Shanghai Cherry Blossom Festival Blooms with New Nighttime Experience
The 15th Shanghai Cherry Blossom Festival will grace Gucun Park from March 15th to April 15th, offering a captivating new nighttime cherry blossom viewing experience. This year's festival promises to be a blooming success, attracting over a million visitors and boosting local consumption by more than 15%.
The festival boasts an expanded cherry blossom planting area, now covering over 1,600 acres with 120 varieties and more than 16,000 trees. Hosted by Shanghai Wusongkou Culture Tourism Investment (Group) Co Ltd and co-guided by various government agencies, the festival will feature 12 themed activities encompassing tourism, culture, sports, commerce, and cruises.
For the first time, a nighttime cherry blossom viewing event will be introduced at a 160,000-square-meter island near Gate No 2 of Gucun Park. This unique experience will combine daytime blossom viewing with nighttime scenic tours, enhanced by captivating light and shadow effects. Visitors can also enjoy a cosplay stage, traditional Chinese-style markets, and a night stay package at Hengshan Beijiao Hotel.
Additional events like the Women's 10-kilometer Elite Race and Bilibili Cherry Blossom Festival IP collaboration will further enhance the festival's brand influence. Tickets for the festival are priced at 20 yuan per person, with discounts available for military personnel, the elderly, and people with disabilities. Separate tickets will be required for the nighttime cherry blossom event.
To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience, transportation services around Gucun Park will be upgraded during the festival. The local transportation bureau will increase bus frequencies, launch custom bus services, and optimize subway capacity. The district public security bureau has also developed a detailed traffic plan to ensure smooth and safe traffic flow.
Get ready to immerse yourself in the beauty of the Shanghai Cherry Blossom Festival, with its expanded offerings and captivating nighttime experience.

The ticket price is too expensive! This should be open to everyone, not just the wealthy.

Are people really going to cosplay at a flower festival? Cringe.

Couldn't they have chosen a more accessible location? Gucun Park doesn't have good public transport connections.

I love that they're incorporating the Bilibili collaboration. It's a great way to reach out to younger generations.
