The Ottawa Senators defeated the Chicago Blackhawks in a thrilling overtime victory on Wednesday night. Tim Stutzle scored the game-winning goal just 46 seconds into the extra period, deflecting a shot off his skate past Blackhawks goaltender Arvid Soderblom.
The Senators got off to a strong start, with captain Brady Tkachuk opening the scoring with his 24th goal of the season. David Perron and Josh Norris also found the back of the net for Ottawa. However, the Blackhawks battled back, with Ryan Donato scoring his 100th career goal and Teuvo Teravainen and Craig Smith adding goals of their own.
The game went into overtime, where Stutzle's heroics secured the win for the Senators. The young forward has been on a tear lately, extending his point streak to 13 games with five goals and 14 assists during that span.
The Senators will look to build on their victory when they host the New York Rangers on Saturday. Meanwhile, the Blackhawks will wrap up their three-game homestand against Utah on Friday night.
