The Vegas Golden Knights continued their winning ways on Wednesday night, defeating the Toronto Maple Leafs 5-2 at home. This victory marked their third consecutive win and extended their lead in the Pacific Division to six points over the Edmonton Oilers.
The Golden Knights' offensive attack was led by Jack Eichel, Noah Hanifin, and Tomas Hertl, each of whom recorded a goal and an assist. Brett Howden and Tanner Pearson also contributed goals, while Adin Hill made 29 saves in net.
For the Maple Leafs, Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner scored the team's only goals. Joseph Woll started in goal but was pulled after allowing three goals on four shots. Anthony Stolarz replaced him and allowed two goals on 16 shots.
With the win, the Golden Knights improved their home record to 23-6-3, making them one of only four teams in the NHL with 23 home wins. They will look to continue their success on Friday night when they host the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The Maple Leafs, on the other hand, saw their four-game road winning streak come to an end. They will try to bounce back on Saturday when they face the Colorado Avalanche in Denver.

So much hype for the Maple Leafs but they can't even beat a one-dimensional team? Pathetic.

Even without Matthews at his best, the Maple Leafs couldn't keep up with Vegas' offense. 🤯
