Canada's performance at the world wheelchair curling championship has been a mixed bag. After splitting their games on Wednesday, they find themselves in a precarious position heading into the final day of round-robin competition.
In the morning draw, Canada, skipped by Gil Dash, defeated Slovakia 6-3 thanks to a crucial steal of two points in the sixth end. However, their hopes of improving their playoff chances were dashed in the evening draw, where they suffered a narrow 5-4 extra-end loss to Sweden.
As a result of these outcomes, Canada is currently tied for third place with Norway, Scotland, and Sweden, all sitting at 5-4 with three draws remaining. Only the top six teams will advance to the playoffs.
China and South Korea have already secured their playoff spots, leading the standings with 7-2 records. England and Italy are close behind at 4-5, while Japan, Latvia, Slovakia, and the United States are further back at 3-6.
Canada's fate now hangs in the balance. They face a tough challenge against China in Thursday's afternoon draw before concluding their preliminary-round play against Italy. Their performance in these final two games will determine whether they can secure a coveted playoff berth.

We're lucky the tournament format gives us chances or we'd already be eliminated.

Constantly playing catch-up on standings? Team Canada should be ashamed.

I'm losing faith that we have what it takes to win against big opponents like China.

We still control our destiny. Team Canada is known for late tournament comebacks.
