The future of US aid deliveries to Ukraine is uncertain, jeopardizing the supply of critical weaponry that has been instrumental in the country's defense against Russia.

While Europe has pledged to step up and provide alternative sources of weaponry, replacing the US-made equipment, like Javelin anti-tank missiles, F-16 fighter jets, and Patriot interceptor missiles, poses a significant challenge.

Experts emphasize the importance of the total amount of military equipment flowing into Ukraine, regardless of its origin. However, Europe's own arsenals are stretched thin, lacking direct replacements for the highly effective US-made weapons.

Current estimates suggest that only 20% of Ukraine's military hardware comes from the US, with 55% being Ukrainian-produced and 25% originating from Europe and other parts of the world. Despite the smaller percentage, experts consider the US contribution to be "the most lethal and important."

Despite the uncertainty surrounding future US aid, Ukraine is expected to receive additional arms directly from US manufacturers that were approved during the Biden administration. It remains unclear whether President Trump's administration will attempt to block these deliveries.

The potential disruption in US aid could have a cumulative effect on Ukraine's defense capabilities, although the country has already experienced a similar situation last year.
