A tragic incident occurred on the morning of February 23, when an alleged argument about social media resulted in the fatal shooting of a man in Mississippi. According to authorities, Rashaan Wallace, age 30, was arrested and charged with the murder of her husband, Damion Reed, 33. The dispute reportedly began over a friend request Wallace had sent on social media, causing Reed to become upset.
Reportedly, during the confrontation at their Brookhollow Drive residence, Reed approached Wallace aggressively. Wallace is alleged to have initially fired a warning shot in an attempt to stop his advance. Detectives further stated that when Reed continued moving toward her despite this warning, Wallace then allegedly fired another shot that ultimately proved fatal.
Following the shooting, Wallace reportedly performed CPR on Reed and called emergency services. Wallace, known to work as a licensed practical nurse, was taken into custody and is currently held at the Hinds County Detention Center. Her bail has been set at $50,000.

This is awful, but I can understand how someone might feel threatened and act in self-defense. Everyone reacts differently in stressful situations. 😨

This is why responsible gun ownership is so important. This woman clearly should not have had access to a firearm. 🔫

This is horrific! How can someone take a life over a simple friend request? My heart goes out to the victim's family. 💔

I'm not condoning violence, but I can see how someone could feel desperate enough to defend themselves with deadly force. 😔
