Xi Jinping Extends Spring Festival Greetings, Emphasizes Military Readiness

Chinese President Xi Jinping offered his Spring Festival greetings to members of the Chinese military during an inspection of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Northern Theater Command. President Xi, who is also the general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC), conveyed heartfelt regards on behalf of the CPC Central Committee and the CMC to all servicemen, including personnel from the People's Armed Police Force, civilian staff associated with the military, and militia and reserve forces.

The Spring Festival, also known as the Chinese New Year, will take place this year on January 29. During Xi's visit on Friday morning, he personally met officers and soldiers stationed at the Northern Theater Command facility. Following this, he connected remotely via a video call with representatives from military units nationwide.

During these interactions, military officers and soldiers provided Xi with briefings on their current combat readiness responsibilities, as well as updates on their mission execution. Xi expressed appreciation and recognition for their diligent efforts and hard work.

In his address, President Xi stressed the ongoing necessity of enhancing combat readiness. He instructed troops to diligently fulfill their duties, remain vigilant, and be thoroughly prepared to respond swiftly in case of emergencies. Xi stated that ensuring military preparedness is crucial for protecting national security and maintaining social stability, especially during the holiday period.
