Pegula Wins ATX Open, Navarro Dominates in Tampico
Top-seeded Jessica Pegula defeated fellow American McCartney Kessler in the ATX Open final in Austin, Texas, claiming her seventh career singles title. Pegula converted 6 of 10 break points and won five of six games to take the first set after trailing 4-2. She dropped the first game of the second set but quickly regained control, winning the next four games and ultimately the match.
This victory marks Pegula's fourth title in the past 18 months, while Kessler remains at two career titles, both won within the past six months.
Meanwhile, in Tampico, Mexico, top-seeded Emma Navarro dominated the Abierto Tampico final, defeating Colombian qualifier Emiliana Arango 6-0, 6-0. Navarro won 76% of her first-serve points and needed just 55 minutes to secure the victory. This marks her second career title, following her win at the Hobart International in January 2024.
Arango struggled throughout the match, committing four double faults and winning only 30% of her first-serve points. This was her first time advancing past the quarterfinals of a WTA event.

I can’t celebrate victories when it seems opponents don't even put up a fight.
