Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has expressed his excitement about midfielder Rodri's recovery from a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament.
Guardiola initially ruled Rodri out for the season after the injury in September. However, Rodri has resumed individual training and is targeting an early return.
"The fans must know they are not the only ones who are excited," Guardiola said after Saturday's FA Cup win. "He was touching the ball today. He was in the locker room ... he feels more confident, he feels happier."
Guardiola believes Rodri could potentially return before the end of the Premier League season. However, he stressed the importance of a cautious approach to his recovery.
"One step at a time. We don’t have to make stupid decisions to come back weeks earlier and (suffer) steps back. But yeah, looks good. Still, he’s not close to coming back, I would say," Guardiola said.

Rodri's return is great news, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. He's not even close to being match-fit yet.

Pep always overhypes his players. I wouldn't be surprised if Rodri isn't back until next season.

Let's not forget, Rodri was having a mediocre season before his injury. His return won't fix all our problems.
