Sanjana Galrani Granted Relief in Drug Case
On March 25, 2024, the Karnataka High Court granted relief to actress Sanjana Galrani in an alleged drug-related case. The court quashed the case against her, citing that the continuation of criminal proceedings would be an abuse of the process of law.
Galrani was arrested by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) of the Bengaluru Police on September 8, 2020, in connection with the case. She subsequently sought relief from the court, leading to the recent order.
The High Court Bench of Justice Hemanth Chandangoudar observed that the petitioners could not be tried for earlier offenses allegedly committed, and separate FIRs were necessary. The court further stated that the continuation of the proceedings would be an abuse of the process of law.
In light of these circumstances, the court allowed the petitions and quashed the impugned proceedings.
Sanjana Galrani has acted in several movies across various languages, including Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam.

This sets a terrible precedent. Is fame becoming a ticket to avoid responsibility?

No wonder people lose faith in justice when the privileged walk away free.

This decision is disappointing! A common person wouldn't have received such easy relief.

I wonder if common people would ever see such swift relief in serious charges.

Another celebrity gets preferential treatment. Justice seems to differ for the rich and powerful.
