Haryana Police Arrest Suspect in Murder of Congress Worker Himani Narwal

Haryana Police have apprehended an individual linked to the murder of Congress worker Himani Narwal, as confirmed by the authorities on Monday. Her body had previously been discovered inside a suitcase abandoned near a highway in Rohtak on March 1.

To investigate this serious incident, police have initiated a Special Investigation Task Force. Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajneesh Kumar disclosed that investigators had recovered Himani's phone and were employing the assistance of cyber experts and forensic science laboratories while considering all potential angles in their ongoing probe.

According to DSP Kumar, Himani Narwal lived alone in Haryana, while her family resided in Delhi. Himani's mother, Savita, has openly accused the electoral process and politics within the party of being responsible for her daughter's untimely demise. She indicated that Himani had developed some enemies due to her growing political influence and noted that she had been previously threatened.

Savita further revealed her daughter's close relationships with prominent Congress party members, including Rahul Gandhi and Asha Hooda, wife of senior figure Bhupinder Singh Hooda, and speculated that these connections had led to envy among some party members or acquaintances. She has firmly stated that she would not perform Himani's last rites until justice is served.

Senior Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda condemned the tragic incident and criticized the Haryana state government, headed by BJP, claiming severe deterioration in law and order, particularly in cases involving crimes committed against women. Hooda demanded an immediate and thorough investigation and called for maximum punishment for any individuals found guilty, regardless of their political affiliations. Hooda has been actively communicating with the police officials and the Superintendent of Police, who have expressed confidence in soon obtaining critical leads concerning the murder.
