Taiwan Detects Chinese Military Activity Near Its Territory
Taiwan's Ministry of National Defence (MND) reported detecting 10 Chinese aircraft, 6 naval vessels, and 4 official ships operating around the island as of 6 am (UTC+8) on Monday, March 3rd. Among these, 9 aircraft crossed the median line and entered Taiwan's southwestern and southeastern Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ).
The MND shared a post on its official website, stating, "10 PLA aircraft, 6 PLAN vessels and 4 official ships operating around Taiwan were detected up until 6 a.m. (UTC+8) today. 9 sorties crossed the median line and entered Taiwan's southwestern and southeastern ADIZ. We have monitored the situation and responded accordingly."
This follows a similar detection on Sunday, where 11 Chinese aircraft, 6 vessels, and 3 official ships were observed around Taiwan. The MND reported that 5 of these aircraft crossed the median line and entered Taiwan's central, southwestern, and southeastern ADIZ.
These incidents highlight China's increasing military activity near Taiwan, raising concerns about its intentions towards the island. Recent developments, such as the launch of a large landing helicopter assault vessel and the mass production of floating bridge docks, further indicate China's potential for amphibious operations.
The Taiwan-China issue remains a complex and sensitive geopolitical conflict. Taiwan, officially the Republic of China (ROC), operates independently with its own government, military, and economy. However, China claims Taiwan as a breakaway province and adheres to the "One China" policy, asserting its sovereignty over the island.
This ongoing dispute has fueled tensions for decades, particularly since the Chinese Civil War (1945-1949), when the ROC government retreated to Taiwan after the Communist Party, led by Mao Zedong, took control of mainland China.

Taiwan exaggerates these incidents to gain sympathy from the West—pure propaganda.
