Labour to Attack Reform UK Over Pro-Russia Stance
The Labour Party is preparing to intensify its attacks on Nigel Farage's Reform UK party over its stance on Russia, as recent polls reveal strong public support for Ukraine. This comes amidst growing tensions between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky over the White House's attempts to negotiate a peace deal with Vladimir Putin.
Labour's strategy will focus on highlighting Mr. Farage's past comments praising Putin and aligning with the Kremlin's narrative on Ukraine. In 2014, he expressed admiration for Putin as an "operator," and last year, he blamed NATO and the EU for provoking Russia's invasion. Additionally, he echoed Trump's recent remarks calling Zelensky a dictator and demanding elections in Ukraine.
Labour intends to capitalize on the public's strong disapproval of Putin, evident in recent polls showing a net approval rating of -85. In contrast, Zelensky enjoys a +48 approval rating. Labour believes Reform UK's pro-Russia stance is out of touch with the public, which overwhelmingly supports Ukraine's victory in the war.
The party's new approach was demonstrated last week when Sir Keir Starmer accused Mr. Farage of "fawning over Putin" for missing a debate on defense spending. Several Labour MPs have also condemned Reform UK for parroting the Kremlin's talking points.
Reform UK has defended its position, stating that it stands with Ukraine against Putin's tyranny. However, Labour remains determined to expose what it sees as Reform UK's pro-Russia bias and capitalize on the public's strong support for Ukraine.

This war has shown how vital it is for politicians to stand up to tyranny. Reform UK's appeasement of Putin is harmful.

We need to be wary of those who downplay the threat Putin poses to Ukraine and the West. Reform UK's stance is concerning.

Labour trying to score cheap political points by smearing Reform UK & Farage. This has nothing to do with helping Ukraine, it's about winning votes. Shameful.

The public overwhelmingly supports Ukraine, and it's right that Labour is highlighting Reform UK's contradictory positions.

I commend Labour for refusing to tolerate pro-Putin voices in British politics. We need to stand with Ukraine and condemn Russia's aggression.

It's refreshing to see a party taking a clear stance against Putin and his supporters. Labour deserves credit for their principled approach.

It's time to stop pretending that both sides are equally bad. Putin is the aggressor, and Reform UK's stance is siding with him.

Focusing on past statements instead of current actions is dishonest and unhelpful. We should judge parties on their present stance, not cherry-pick from the past.

We stand with Ukraine. Reform UK needs to get on board with the majority, not with Putin's regime.

This is about more than just Ukraine, it's about defending our values of democracy and freedom. Reform UK's stance undermines these values.

Finally, someone is holding Reform UK accountable for their dangerous rhetoric. Their pro-Russia stance is unacceptable.

Instead of attacking each other, shouldn't all parties be focusing on finding ways to aid Ukraine and bring an end to the war?
