The European Union's foreign policy chief, Kaja Kallas, has called for a new leader of the free world, following Donald Trump's explosive Oval Office clash with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Kallas took to social media to express her support for Ukraine, stating that "Ukraine is Europe! We stand by Ukraine. We will step up our support to Ukraine so that they can continue to fight back the aggressor."
She went on to say that "Today, it became clear that the free world needs a new leader. It's up to us, Europeans, to take this challenge."
Kallas' comments came after EU Commission chief Ursula Von der Leyen praised Zelensky's "dignity" and "bravery," adding that "Be strong, be brave, be fearless. You are never alone."
Sir Keir Starmer, the leader of the UK's Labour Party, also expressed his "unwavering support" for Ukraine, while Prime Minister Boris Johnson said he is "doing all he can to find a path forward to a lasting peace based on sovereignty and security for Ukraine."
In an apparent rebuke to Trump, senior opposition MP Robert Jenrick said that countries' leaders could disagree, "but the West must show a united front to our enemies."
Zelensky, for his part, refused to apologize for the clash with Trump, but insisted that the relationship can be repaired. "I'm not sure we did something bad. I think maybe some things we have to discuss out of media," he told Fox News.

I support Trump here. Zelensky and Kallas are just stirring unnecessary drama.

Europe trying to take the lead? What a joke. They'll never replace America's leadership.

Europe is absolutely right—it should take responsibility and show leadership.
