Olympic champion and LPGA Hall of Fame golfer Lydia Ko advanced closer to the top leaderboard position after an impressive round of golf at the HSBC Women’s World Championship on Friday. Ko delivered a bogey-free round of 67, placing her just one shot behind the current leader.
Originally from South Korea but competing for New Zealand, Ko finished at a total of 6-under 138 after two rounds at the Sentosa Golf Club's Tanjong course. She showed exceptional consistency by hitting 11 of 14 fairways and achieving greens in regulation on 16 out of 17 attempts.
Leading after the first day, golfer A Lim Kim maintained her position at the top, carding a 69 in Friday's play. England's Charley Hull and South Korea's Hyo Joo Kim are further in contention, sharing third place two strokes from the lead.
Meanwhile, defending champion Hannah Green finished at even-par following her second-round 69, currently tied with Angel Yin, the most recent LPGA winner in Thailand. Notably, the event in Singapore features a remarkable group of participants, including 13 of the top 15 golfers in the women's world rankings, with the notable absences of Nelly Korda and Rose Zhang.
Following this tournament, the LPGA tour heads to Hainan Island, China, marking the end of this season's three-event Asian Swing.
