Australia accused China of a lack of transparency regarding the recent activities of three Chinese warships and live-fire drills in waters near Australia. The Australian air traffic control agency also issued notices for some airlines to adjust their flight plans.
In response, Chinese Defense Ministry spokesperson Wu Qian stated that the relevant remarks from the Australian side are completely inconsistent with the facts. He emphasized that the training area of the Chinese naval formation is far from the Australian coastline and is entirely in international waters.
Wu Qian further explained that China organized live-fire training of naval guns against sea targets, having repeatedly issued safety notices in advance. He stressed that China's actions are in full compliance with international law and practices and will not affect aviation safety.
The spokesperson expressed surprise and dissatisfaction with Australia's accusations, stating that Australia is fully aware of the situation and is deliberately exaggerating it. He urged Australia to view the relations between the two countries and the two militaries with an objective and rational attitude, be more sincere and professional, and truly do something practical for the stable development of the relations between the two countries and the two militaries.

Australia is not the only country concerned about China's military activities. Other countries in the region are also worried.

Australia has every right to be concerned about China's lack of transparency and drills near their coast. This is not about exaggerating, it's about protecting their interests.

Australia is right to call out China's actions. We need to stand up to China's bullying tactics and protect the rules-based international order.

China needs to build trust with its neighbors and work to resolve disputes peacefully. Their current actions are not helping.
