Tesco is removing the pay-in-store feature from its Clubcard app, effective March 7th. This decision aims to streamline the customer experience and ensure the best value and convenience.
Customers will no longer be able to pay for their purchases directly through the app. Instead, they will need to scan their Clubcard first and then pay separately using their preferred method, such as a card or cash.
Despite the change, customers can still earn points and access Clubcard Prices by scanning their physical Clubcard or the app at the till. Additionally, they can add their Tesco Clubcard to their Apple or Google wallet for a similar, albeit less streamlined, experience.
Tesco assures customers that they are constantly reviewing payment options and that earning points and enjoying Clubcard Prices remains quick and easy through alternative methods.

Simplifying the app might lead to fewer glitches and a more reliable service. I appreciate the transparency.

I'm disappointed that Tesco is removing a feature that many of us found useful and time-saving.

Feels like Tesco is taking a giant leap backwards in technology, making our lives harder.

Tesco is continuously reviewing payment options, so I trust they’ll improve things further down the line.

Honestly, the new process feels clunky. I expected Tesco to enhance convenience, not reduce it.

Even without the direct pay feature, I still find the overall experience quick and efficient. Change can be positive!

Why complicate a process that was already working smoothly? This decision doesn’t make sense.

If the change was meant to improve convenience, it’s failing miserably by adding unnecessary steps.
