Slack Users Report Widespread Issues
Thousands of users reported issues with the workplace messaging service Slack on Wednesday morning. The problems affected both the website and the app, with over 3,000 reports logged on DownDetector.
"We're investigating reports of trouble connecting or loading Slack, we'll provide another update once we have news to share," the company stated on their Slack Status website at 10:30 a.m.
A Slack spokesperson advised users to monitor the Slack Status page for updates as the company investigates the issue.
"We're still working to restore functionality to affected Slack features such as sending messages, workflows, threads and other API-related features. We'll be back with more updates as soon as they're available."
At 1:30 p.m., Slack added that their team was still investigating but had no new information to share.
According to the Slack Status dashboard, notifications, searching, workspace administration, canvases, files, and huddles remained unaffected as of noon Wednesday.
Slack is a popular cloud-based messaging service used by thousands of organizations worldwide. The company boasts over 200,000 paid customers and daily users in more than 150 countries. Major companies like Target, Uber, Etsy, Expedia, and Airbnb all utilize Slack.
The last major issue with Slack occurred on January 13, 2025. At that time, users experienced brief issues with connecting, sending messages, and running workflows.
