Florida Democratic Representative Maxwell Alejandro Frost, the youngest member of Congress, faced a heated exchange with Republicans during a House Oversight Committee hearing on Tuesday. The controversy arose after Frost referred to President Donald Trump as a "grifter" while discussing Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Frost argued that both Trump and Musk were using their positions to enrich themselves, prompting disapproval from Republicans. The committee's chairman, James Comer, demanded that Frost revise his statement and address the president by his proper title.

Frost stood his ground, reiterating his reference to Trump as a "grifter" and alluding to Musk's unchecked power as a "special advisor." This further angered Republicans, leading Comer to threaten Frost with expulsion if he didn't refrain from his remarks.

Texas Democrat Jasmine Crockett attempted to defend Frost but was silenced by Comer. Frost later accused Comer of trying to silence him, a claim that Comer denied.
