In the 2025 presidential elections held in Belarus on January 26th, Alexander Lukashenko emerged victorious with a significant majority of the votes. The Belarusian Central Election Commission officially declared his victory, with Lukashenko securing 86.82% of the total votes cast.
Other candidates in the election included Sergei Syrankov (3.21%), Oleg Gaidukevich (2.02%), Anna Kanopatskaya (1.86%), and Alexander Khizhnyak (1.74%). Notably, around 3.60% of voters opted to vote against all candidates.
The voter turnout for the election was recorded at 85.69%. According to Belarusian law, a presidential candidate who receives more than 50% of the vote is declared the winner.
This victory marks Lukashenko's seventh consecutive term as president of Belarus, having first been elected in 1994. He was subsequently re-elected in 2001, 2006, 2010, 2015, and 2020.
