Chinese Military Conducts Exercises Around Taiwan During Lunar New Year
The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Eastern Theater Command engaged in extensive military exercises around Taiwan during the Lunar New Year festivities. These exercises, which involved both naval and air forces, began on Chinese New Year's Eve (January 28th) and continued through the Lantern Festival on Wednesday (February 5th).
"The Lantern Festival is a traditional festival for Chinese people on both sides of the Straits. On this festive occasion, I wish you and your families a happy Lantern Festival!"
In addition to the naval presence, multiple J-10C fighter jets and H-6K bombers were deployed for combat alert patrols and round-the-clock flight missions around Taiwan. These exercises demonstrate the PLA's continued focus on maintaining military readiness and its commitment to safeguarding China's territorial claims.
