Chinese Ambassador Discusses Combating Online Gambling and Telecom Fraud with Thai Officials
Chinese Ambassador to Thailand Han Zhiqiang recently met with Thai Deputy Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai and Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai to discuss joint efforts in combating online gambling and telecom fraud crimes. The discussions focused on areas like Myawaddy and other locations where these illegal activities are prevalent. Additionally, they addressed the issue of rescuing Chinese citizens trapped in these areas.
The meeting followed the recent official visit of Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra to China, where both countries reaffirmed their commitment to tackling online gambling, telecom fraud, and related transnational crimes. Law enforcement agencies from both sides have already taken swift actions and achieved initial results.
Ambassador Han expressed his hope that both countries would deepen their cooperation in the next phase to eradicate these cross-border crimes. These illegal activities pose serious risks to people's property and lives, making their eradication a crucial priority.
