Republican Congressman Demands Answers from New SBA Chief on Election Interference and COVID Relief Fraud
Representative Roger Williams, the Republican chair of the House Committee on Small Business, is demanding answers from the newly appointed Small Business Administration (SBA) chief under President Donald Trump. He accuses the Biden administration of using taxpayer funds for electioneering in swing states and failing to recover fraudulent or misappropriated COVID relief funds.
Williams claims the Biden administration has strayed from the SBA's core mission of serving small businesses. He cites the agency's involvement in a 2021 executive order on "promoting access to voting" and a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Michigan election officials as evidence of this deviation. Despite the order being rescinded by Trump, Williams remains concerned about the lack of transparency and its potential impact on the 2024 election.
The congressman also criticizes the Biden-era rule changes that he believes threaten the SBA's small-business-lending portfolio. He estimates that approximately $200 billion in COVID-19 lending programs went to potentially fraudulent recipients. Additionally, he questions the Biden administration's decision to suspend delinquent disaster loan and PPP collections for loans under $100,000.
Williams previously issued a subpoena for staff travel calendars and information from the SBA to investigate potential misuse of taxpayer funds for voter registration in Michigan under the MOU. Democrats on the committee have criticized this action as a partisan inquiry.
Despite the Biden administration's claims of innocence, Williams remains committed to conducting congressional oversight of the alleged electioneering and COVID relief fraud. He looks forward to working with the new SBA chief to restore credibility and transparency to the agency and ensure that small businesses have a voice in the government.

We need to elect more Republicans in the upcoming midterms so that they can continue to fight against the Biden administration's corruption.

I'm a small business owner and I'm appalled by how much money was wasted on fraudulent COVID relief. That money should have gone to businesses like mine that actually needed it.

It's clear that the Biden administration is trying to cover up their wrongdoing. They need to come clean and answer Congressman Williams' questions.

Finally, someone is holding the Biden administration accountable for their misuse of taxpayer dollars. We need more representatives like Congressman Williams.

The SBA helped millions of small businesses survive the pandemic. Congressman Williams should be thanking them, not attacking them.
