Alexa Grasso, the former flyweight champion, and Marc-Andre Barriault, a Canadian middleweight, are both set to face Brazilian opponents at UFC 315 in Montreal this May.
Grasso will take on Natalia Silva, while Barriault will face Bruno Silva in the first two bouts confirmed by the UFC for the May 10 show at the Bell Centre.
Grasso lost her title in her last fight against Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 306 in September. This was the third fight of their trilogy, with Grasso winning the title at UFC 285 in March 2025 and the two fighters drawing in September 2023.
Natalia Silva is currently ranked fifth among the UFC's 125-pound contenders. She has won her last 12 fights, including all seven of her UFC bouts, since losing to Marina Rodriguez in December 2017.
Barriault has lost his last three fights, the last two by first-round knockout. The 35-year-old from Gatineau, Quebec, who trains in Florida, is 5-8-0 with one no contest in UFC action.
Bruno Silva has also lost his last four fights and is 4-6-0 in the UFC. He went the distance with Alex Pereira in March 2022, losing a decision before Pereira went on to win the middleweight title. Pereira is currently the UFC's light-heavyweight champion.
The UFC last came to Montreal in April 2015 when then-flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson defeated Kyoji Horiguchi in the main event of UFC 186. UFC 315 will mark the UFC's eighth show in Montreal and 35th overall in Canada, spread among 11 cities.
Montreal hosted the UFC's first show in Canada, UFC 83 in April 2008, when local favorite Georges St-Pierre defeated Matt Serra in the second round to regain his welterweight title.
The promotion's last show in Canada was a Fight Night card last November in Edmonton. The main event saw former flyweight champion Brandon Moreno win a decision over Amir Albazi.

Grasso is overrated. I don't think she's a true title contender.

I'm tired of seeing the same old fighters over and over again. Give me some fresh faces!

I'm not interested in watching women's MMA. It's just not as exciting as men's MMA.

This card is pretty weak. Not sure it's worth watching.

The UFC is just milking the Canadian market for all it's worth. This card is a joke.

Bruno Silva is a tough out. I'm not sure Barriault can handle his power.

Can't wait for Barriault to bring the heat to Montreal! Bruno Silva better be ready for a war.
The Truth
Silva is a tough opponent, but I think Grasso has the skills to beat her.
Answer
Grasso doesn't have the killer instinct to be a champion. I don't think she'll ever win the title.

Barriault is past his prime. It's time for him to hang it up.

Barriault is a warrior! I'm confident he'll get back on track.

Grasso lost her last fight and is facing a tough opponent. I'm not sure she'll be able to win.
