Shaina NC congratulates Rekha Gupta on becoming Delhi's new Chief Minister

Shiv Sena leader Shaina NC extended her congratulations to Rekha Gupta on being elected as the new Chief Minister of Delhi. She expressed her joy at seeing a woman take on the leadership role, stating that it signifies progress for the entire society.

"It feels great that a woman has got a chance to become the Chief Minister... I want to congratulate Rekha Gupta and I believe that if a woman from any party moves forward, then the entire society moves forward...," Shaina NC told ANI.

Rekha Gupta, the newly appointed Chief Minister of Delhi, expressed her profound gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the party leadership, and the people of Delhi for entrusting her with this significant responsibility. She pledged to dedicate every moment of her life to fulfilling the expectations placed upon her.

In an exclusive interview with ANI, Gupta acknowledged the honor bestowed upon her, not just as an individual but also as a representative of the women of India who constitute half the nation's population. She emphasized her commitment to fulfilling every promise made by the BJP and working tirelessly for the betterment of Delhi.

"I want to thank PM Modi, BJP high command people of Delhi for giving me this opportunity, after 27 years, a new chapter is beginning. It is a moment of pride for the women in the country. We have staked claim to form the government...each and every commitment of BJP, fulfilling it is the ultimate goal of my life," she said.

Continuing Delhi's legacy of women leadership

Rekha Gupta's appointment marks a continuation of Delhi's unique tradition of having women Chief Ministers, a feat rarely achieved in other parts of the country. Delhi has witnessed women leaders from diverse political backgrounds, including the BJP, Congress, and Aam Aadmi Party, holding the top position. Gupta will succeed Atishi, who served as the previous Chief Minister.

Elected from the Shalimar Bagh constituency, Rekha Gupta brings a wealth of experience to the role. She has served as the general secretary of BJP Mahila Morcha in Delhi and as a member of its national executive committee. In these capacities, she has spearheaded numerous initiatives focused on the welfare of marginalized communities and women.

Her selection as the next Chief Minister came after days of speculation and anticipation following the declaration of the Delhi assembly election results on February 8th.
