White House Slams Senator Murphy for Expletive-Filled Tweet
The White House engaged in a heated exchange with Democratic Senator Chris Murphy on social media, labeling him a "moron" after the lawmaker posted an expletive-laden message directed at a parody account he mistakenly believed belonged to Lara Trump, the president's daughter-in-law.
The White House's rapid response account, Rapid Response 47, launched in January to combat "fake news," responded to Murphy's tweet with a scathing message. "You are a moron, Chris. It is obvious this page is not affiliated with President Trump, his family, or the administration. We do, however, support your right to make such a statement, no matter how imbecilic it makes you look," the account stated.
Murphy's tweet was in response to a post on a parody fan account mimicking Lara Trump, which discussed the possibility of border czar Tom Homan arresting Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for allegedly providing illegal immigrants with instructions on how to avoid deportation. Murphy, seemingly unaware of the account's true nature, criticized the Trump administration for advocating for the arrest of a Democrat while simultaneously lecturing Europe on "free speech."
Murphy's tweet was flagged by Twitter with a community note clarifying that he was responding to a parody account and that Lara Trump did not issue such a tweet. Fox News Digital reached out to Murphy's office for comment but did not receive an immediate response.
The parody account's message likely referred to a "Know Your Rights" webinar hosted by Ocasio-Cortez's office, which provided information to illegal immigrants on how to avoid deportation during the Trump administration's border crackdown. Former acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and current border czar under the second Trump administration, Tom Homan, questioned the legality of the guide and is working with the Department of Justice to determine if Ocasio-Cortez crossed any legal lines.

Senator Murphy is a champion of free speech. He's fighting for our right to express ourselves freely, even if the White House doesn't like it.

This incident proves why we can't trust politicians. They're all about double standards and playing the victim. This is why we need to hold them accountable and demand better from our elected officials.

Murphy's response may have been strongly worded, but it's understandable given the circumstances. He was clearly upset by the misinformation being spread by a parody account.

This incident shows that Murphy is unfit to serve in the Senate. He clearly has anger management issues and lacks the temperament necessary for such a high-profile position.

The White House should be focusing on more important issues than attacking Senator Murphy. They have enough problems as it is.
