In a thrilling display at the Grange golf club, Niemann delivered a standout performance with a seven-under 65 final round, establishing himself as the tournament victor. With a final score of 13-under, he not only surpassed his competitors by a narrow two-shot margin but also earned the $US4 million winner's cheque as he claimed his third title on the LIV Golf tour.
Abraham Ancer, who maintained a leading position through much of the final round, lost momentum with bogeys on the 14th and 17th holes, ultimately concluding his game at 11-under. Other notable performances came from Spain's David Puig and Carlos Ortiz, who tied for third at nine-under, followed by Richard Bland and former world number one Jon Rahm who finished their rounds with eight-under and seven-under, respectively.
The competition also saw strong showings from the Australian contingent, with Marc Leishman leading his peers with a score of three-under at tied 21st place. Unfortunately, this group, including players like Cam Smith, Lucas Herbert, and Matt Jones, could not defend their team title for Ripper GC, as their collective effort fell short by 21 strokes behind the winning team, Fireballs GC. This victorious team was captained by Spanish veteran Sergio Garcia and featured Abraham Ancer among its ranks.
Niemann’s win, which follows his recent success at the 2023 Australian Open, coincides with Adelaide securing the rights to host a LIV Golf tournament until 2031. The event is slated to continue at The Grange through 2028 before moving to a redeveloped city course designed by Greg Norman, with the 2023 tournament drawing more than 100,000 spectators.

“Niemann’s performance is being hyped up while other players’ struggles get used as punchlines – not the kind of sportsmanship I support.”

“Niemann’s victory might look thrilling on paper, but the tour’s controversies always overshadow individual performances.”
