Home Affairs and Law Minister K Shanmugam announced upcoming projects in the Chong Pang area, located in the Nee Soon Group Representation Constituency. He noted that the new integrated centre, whose groundbreaking took place in March 2023, is part of ongoing developments aimed at revitalizing the community. The centre, scheduled for completion in 2027, will include a community club, hawker centre, market, swimming pools, and a supermarket, among other features, and is expected to enhance the overall living environment and drive up property values not only in Chong Pang but also in Nee Soon Central.
The minister also pointed out the significant evolution of the constituency over the years, with marked improvements in transport connectivity, environmental sustainability, and healthcare facilities. As part of efforts to establish Nee Soon as a healthcare hub in the north, initiatives are underway to develop dementia-friendly environments through better signage and easier access for older residents. Events at the My Nee Soon carnival and exhibition further engaged the community by inviting residents to map out their vision for the area, while local leaders also outlined steps toward increased sustainability, including plans to install solar panels on HDB flat rooftops.
