A blanket of snow has already fallen across parts of Ontario and Quebec, leaving residents to dig themselves out and brace for another impending winter storm. Environment Canada, the national weather agency, has issued winter storm warnings for a vast region, encompassing the city of Toronto, areas southwest and northeast of the Ontario capital, the Ottawa area, and southern and central Quebec.
The agency's forecast predicts significant snowfall accumulations, ranging from 25 to 40 centimeters in Toronto and similar amounts in parts of southwestern Ontario. The Ottawa area, as well as southern and central Quebec, are also expected to be blanketed by heavy snowfall. Environment Canada warns that the rapidly accumulating snow could pose challenges for travel in affected areas.
Beyond the heavy snowfall, strong winds and snow are also expected to lash parts of Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia. Gusts are forecast to reach 90 kilometers per hour on Sunday, potentially causing disruptions and hazardous conditions.
As residents prepare for the approaching storm, they are advised to stay informed about the latest weather updates and warnings issued by Environment Canada. Taking necessary precautions, such as stocking up on essential supplies and avoiding unnecessary travel, can help ensure safety during the storm.
