Chiropractor Charged with Voyeurism After Hidden Cameras Found in Treatment Rooms
Winnipeg police have charged chiropractor Dr. Robert Stitt with eight counts of voyeurism after allegedly using hidden cameras disguised as sprinklers to film female patients undressing.
The investigation began in December 2024 when the Manitoba Chiropractors Association received a tip about hidden cameras in Stitt's office. Police raided the office and discovered holes in the ceilings of treatment rooms where the fake sprinklers had been installed. The office reportedly did not have a sprinkler system. Five cameras were seized from the building.
Stitt's license was suspended in January 2024 after the Chiropractors Association became aware of the hidden cameras. The organization learned about the cameras when one of their investigators visited Stitt's office to investigate a separate matter.
According to police, Stitt allegedly showed the investigator videos that he claimed would "exonerate himself of any wrongdoing." However, the investigator observed videos of three different women disrobing, with one woman facing the camera with her breasts exposed.
In Canada, chiropractors are not subject to a law that makes findings of ongoing disciplinary proceedings public. This includes details of crimes and sanctions, such as license suspensions or revocations.
Manitoba Health Minister Uzoma Asagwara has stated that the government is actively working to evaluate how to improve transparency and accountability in cases where chiropractors are disciplined for wrongdoing. He wants to ensure that the public is better protected and informed when such incidents occur.

I'm outraged by this abuse of power! This man deserves to be punished severely for his actions.

I hope the police investigation leads to a conviction and strong punishment. Justice must be served.

It's concerning that chiropractors are not subject to the same level of scrutiny as other medical professionals.

This is absolutely appalling behavior. He preyed on women who were already in a vulnerable position.

He should lose his license and never practice chiropractor again! This is a serious breach of ethics.

Good on the Manitoba Chiropractors Association for investigating and suspending his license.
