The investigation into the disappearance of Megan Trussell, an 18-year-old student, has now expanded with the involvement of the FBI. Megan was last seen on surveillance footage near the UC Boulder dorms where she resided, before she headed in the direction of her sister’s apartment in the city—a destination she ultimately never reached.
In the wake of her disappearance, Megan’s parents have taken to the campus to distribute flyers and speak with locals, hoping to uncover any information that could lead to her whereabouts. Authorities are currently attempting to trace her Samsung Galaxy S24, with initial results suggesting that the phone might be located on the west side of Boulder, near an area known for its popular trails.
When last seen, Megan was wearing red pajama pants, a dark grey jacket, and white shoes, and she was carrying both her phone and a unique, handmade "Ramona Flowers handbag" crafted by her mother—a staple that she rarely leaves without. Her mother recounted that while Megan was excited about a forthcoming birthday party for one of her cousins, all communication abruptly ended after Saturday evening, with phone activity ceasing after 8:45 p.m. on Sunday.
Local and statewide law enforcement agencies are working together in hopes of finding Megan, and her parents continue to plead with the community for any information that might help ensure her safe return.
