Vice President JD Vance and his wife, Usha Vance, visited the Dachau concentration camp in Germany on Thursday. The camp served as a powerful reminder of the atrocities committed by Nazi Germany against Jews and other minority groups during World War II.
Vance and his wife toured the site alongside 96-year-old Holocaust survivor Abba Naor, who was an inmate at Dachau. They laid a wreath at the base of the International Monument and stopped at a wall that reads "Never again" in five different languages.
More than 200,000 people were held at Dachau between 1933-1945, and experts believe that more than 40,000 people were killed there. Vance is the latest top American official to visit the site, following President Joe Biden and Vice President Mike Pence.
Vance's five-day trip to Europe will also include his attendance of the Munich Security Conference, where he will meet with world leaders, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. They are expected to discuss President Donald Trump's plans to end the three-year-long war.

Attending a security conference with Zelenskyy while ignoring the plight of Americans struggling at home? Priorities are messed up. 😡

It's refreshing to see a leader who prioritizes diplomacy and peacebuilding over military intervention. 🙌🙌

This is pure political theatre. VP Vance is using a tragic historical event to gain sympathy and score points. 😠🤬

Shameful use of a Holocaust site for self-promotion. 👎👎

Comparing Trump's war plans to the Holocaust is insensitive and offensive. 🤬🤬

He needs to understand the gravity of the Holocaust before using it as a backdrop for his political agenda. 🙄🙄

It's important for leaders to visit historical sites like Dachau to learn from the past and ensure such atrocities never happen again. 👍👍

He should focus on the real issues facing Americans, not grandstanding in Europe. 🙄🙄
