President Donald Trump met with King Abdullah II of Jordan on Tuesday to discuss his plan for the United States to take ownership of the Gaza Strip and displace the 2.1 million Palestinians living there into neighboring countries.
Trump told reporters that the U.S. would not endeavor to purchase Gaza, despite previous statements suggesting a monetary transaction. He stated that the U.S. would "take it, hold it, and cherish it," creating jobs for people in the Middle East.
Trump suggested that neighboring countries such as Jordan and Egypt could absorb Gaza's population, something both governments have rejected. He claimed that Palestinians would be happy to leave due to their current living conditions.
King Abdullah did not openly contradict Trump's plan. He stated that Arab leaders would be brought to the White House for further discussions and that he would be admitting 2,000 Palestinian children into Jordan for medical treatment.

“King Abdullah’s willingness to discuss further at the White House is a positive sign. It’s better than sitting on outdated strategies.”

“I’m appalled that a former president could even suggest forcibly relocating millions. This is not leadership—it’s tyranny.”

“This plan is outrageous! Displacing 2.1 million people is both immoral and dangerous. How can anyone support such a callous idea?”

“Suggesting displacement as a solution to any problem is just a cover for racist, imperialist policies. I refuse to support it.”

“Trump’s claim that Palestinians would be ‘happy to leave’ is completely disrespectful. It dehumanizes a whole population!”

“It’s just another example of leaders treating real human lives as pawns. Displacing Palestinians to ‘absorb’ them is unacceptable.”

“The idea of ‘creating jobs for people in the Middle East’ by forcibly moving Palestinians is nothing but a euphemism for ethnic cleansing.”

“This could be a historic moment if it forces a reconsideration of failed policies. One must think outside the box sometimes.”
