Macron and Modi Co-Chair AI Action Summit in Paris, Deepening India-France Strategic Partnership

French President Emmanuel Macron warmly welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Paris, expressing his eagerness for their co-chairing of the AI Action Summit. He also extended a friendly greeting to United States Vice President JD Vance, who was also attending the summit.

Prime Minister Modi reciprocated the warm welcome, stating in a social media post, "Delighted to meet my friend, President Macron in Paris." He also shared highlights of his arrival in Paris, including the enthusiastic welcome he received from members of the Indian diaspora.

The Indian community in Paris greeted Prime Minister Modi with great enthusiasm, singing 'Hare Krishna' as they awaited his arrival. One member of the community, celebrating his birthday on the same day, expressed his joy at receiving blessings from the Prime Minister. Another member highlighted the significance of Prime Minister Modi's visit for the AI summit and the potential for further collaboration, including the opening of a new consulate and a cultural center.

Prime Minister Modi and President Macron will co-chair the AI Action Summit, engaging with global leaders and tech industry executives to explore the potential of AI for the public good. Their visit also holds historical significance, as they will jointly inaugurate India's first consulate in Marseille, strengthening diplomatic ties between the two nations.

The visit aligns with ongoing efforts to deepen the India-France strategic partnership, including reviewing progress on the Horizon 2047 Roadmap, an initiative focused on long-term cooperation in key sectors.

During his stay, Prime Minister Modi will travel to Marseille with Macron, where they will visit the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) project, a significant international collaboration in nuclear fusion research. He will also visit the Mazargues War Cemetery to honor Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the World Wars.

Following his visit to France, Prime Minister Modi will travel to the United States for a two-day visit at the invitation of President Donald Trump.
