Trump and Putin Discuss Ending the War in Ukraine
In a recent interview aboard Air Force One, US President Donald Trump confirmed that he had spoken with Russian President Vladimir Putin about ending the war in Ukraine. While declining to disclose the frequency of their conversations, Trump stated that Putin expressed a desire to see an end to the conflict and the loss of life.
The Kremlin, however, has remained tight-lipped about the alleged conversation, with spokesman Dmitry Peskov refusing to confirm or deny its occurrence.
Next week, President Trump is scheduled to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to discuss the ongoing war and Ukraine's efforts to repel Russian forces.
North Korea Pledges Support for Russia
In a recent statement, North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un expressed his country's unwavering support for Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Citing the "spirit of the treaty on the comprehensive strategic partnership" between the two nations, Kim pledged that the North Korean army would stand by Russia in its defense of its sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity.
