Two Charged in Fort Campbell Soldier's Death
Sofia Rodas, 35, has been charged with first-degree murder and tampering with evidence in the death of U.S. Army Private First Class Katia Dueñas Aguilar, 23. Aguilar's body was found in her Clarksville, Tennessee home in May 2022.
Aguilar's husband, Reynaldo Salinas Cruz, 40, has also been charged with tampering with evidence. Both Rodas and Salinas Cruz were previously held on unrelated federal charges and were extradited to Clarksville on Friday.
Details surrounding the charges remain unavailable.
Dueñas Aguilar, originally from Mesquite, Texas, enlisted in the Army in 2018 and was stationed at Fort Campbell on the Tennessee-Kentucky border a year later. She served with the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne Division.
A $55,000 reward was offered by her family and The League of United Latin American Citizens for information leading to an arrest and conviction. The investigation is ongoing, with Clarksville Police and Army criminal investigators collaborating.
An autopsy report revealed that Dueñas Aguilar suffered 68 stab wounds to her neck and upper body. The medical examiner ruled her death a homicide caused by sharp-force injuries to the neck.

It's important to remember that everyone is innocent until proven guilty. Let's allow the legal process to unfold before jumping to conclusions.
