On Saturday evening, the National Health Commission announced that it had dispatched a team of national-level doctors and specialists to Jinping village in Sichuan’s Yibin city after a landslide struck earlier that day at around 11:50 am. The team includes experts from Sichuan University’s West China Hospital, skilled in intensive care, emergency medicine, and trauma, who have been tasked with providing immediate medical assistance in the disaster zone.
Local health authorities quickly set up on-site rescue operations, mobilizing medical staff and vehicles to treat the injured and support affected residents. In addition, officials have been sent to the region to ensure that medical efforts are well-coordinated and effective.
By the evening, reports indicated that at least 30 people were missing and that 10 homes had been buried by the landslide. Rescue efforts continued through the night, with at least two injured individuals having been rescued and taken to a hospital, while further search and rescue operations were actively underway. The commission has also pledged to send additional national-level medical personnel and enhance psychological support for the villagers, addressing both their physical and emotional needs in the aftermath of the disaster.

I hope these "national-level doctors" are truly qualified and equipped to handle this type of disaster. We need the best possible care for the injured and affected residents.

Instead of relying on outside help, shouldn't the local authorities be able to handle such situations? This feels like a failure of local governance.

I'm concerned about the lack of information. We need more details about the landslide, the rescue efforts, and the victims. Transparency is crucial in times like these.
