Urgent Recall of Goodfella's Stonebaked Thin Garlic Bread
Customers are being urged to return packets of Goodfella's Stonebaked Thin Garlic Bread due to the presence of undeclared milk in a batch. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) issued a notice stating that the affected garlic bread was mispacked with a version containing cheese, posing a potential health risk for individuals with milk allergies or intolerances.
Allergies to cow's milk affect around 2-3% of babies, and while most outgrow it during childhood, it can trigger a serious immune response in some individuals. In severe cases, even a tiny amount of milk can cause anaphylaxis, a potentially life-threatening reaction.
The affected packs have a batch code of 5020 and a best-before date of December 2025. They were sold exclusively in Co-op stores. Customers with milk allergies or intolerances are advised not to consume the product and instead return it to the store for a full refund.
Goodfella's has apologized for the inconvenience caused and stressed that other batches and products are not affected. The company recommends that individuals with severe milk allergies avoid all dairy products. Symptoms of a milk allergy can usually be relieved using antihistamines or an adrenaline auto-injector pen.

Another example of a company cutting corners on safety. Their quality control is seriously lacking.

This is outrageous! How could Goodfella’s let such a dangerous mix-up happen? People with allergies are at real risk.

It’s commendable that both the FSA and Goodfella’s are prioritizing public health over short-term loss. Safety first!
