Tom Homan, previously assigned to the border crisis under the Trump administration, announced his intent to investigate comments made by New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy. Homan expressed concern over Murphy's suggestion that the federal government could attempt to apprehend an illegal immigrant who he implied could be living at his residence. He warned that if Murphy was indeed sheltering an undocumented individual, it would be in violation of relevant immigration laws, indicating that prosecution could follow.
During an interview with Blue Wave New Jersey, Murphy shared that he and his wife, Tammy, had considered allowing an individual with uncertain immigration status to stay in their home. He provocatively suggested that federal authorities would face challenges in trying to apprehend her. However, a source close to Murphy later clarified that this was merely a hypothetical discussion and no undocumented person had ever resided at their property. According to this source, the individual in question was actually a legal resident, which aimed to dispel any misinterpretations of the governor's statements.

Murphy's comments are highly concerning. We can’t have leaders who flirt with breaking immigration laws!

Our immigration laws must be respected. Anyone who violates them should face consequences, including those in power!

If there's any truth to the idea of sheltering an undocumented immigrant, then Homan has a duty to investigate!

This is desperate from Homan. He’s just trying to undermine Murphy’s leadership in New Jersey.

The law applies to everyone, including governors. Homan is showing that nobody is above scrutiny!
