Mass Migration

First Migrant Flight to Guantanamo Bay Takes Off Amid Trump's Immigration Policies

On Tuesday, the initial flight of migrants en route to Guantanamo Bay departed, with images of the boarding process obtained by Fox News Digital. This initiative follows President Trump's announcement urging the Pentagon to ready the military base to accommodate approximately 30,000 individuals categorized as "criminal illegal aliens."

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed the commencement of these flights, linking them directly to Trump's promise to utilize Guantanamo for individuals alleged to have breached immigration laws and committed serious offenses. The inaugural flight left from Fort Bliss, carrying around a dozen migrants who will be isolated from the 15 detainees currently held, including notable figures linked to the 9/11 attacks like Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.

Trump emphasized that some migrants are considered too dangerous to be held in their home countries, asserting the need to transfer them to Guantanamo. Approximately 380 service members are involved in supporting the holding operations at the Naval Station there, with the U.S. Southern Command indicating that this number may vary based on demand from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

The Trump administration has not disclosed the anticipated costs associated with expanding operations at Guantanamo Bay, which has functioned as a detention site for foreign militants since its establishment in 2002. This move is part of a larger plan by the administration to initiate a significant deportation campaign, including arrangements with countries like Venezuela and Colombia to repatriate their nationals who are illegally residing in the U.S. Since taking office, Trump has deployed military forces to the southern border and implemented measures restricting migrants from claiming asylum, while DHS continues to facilitate the arrest and deportation of illegal immigrants.

Instead of investing in building walls and cages, we should be investing in humanitarian aid and solutions to the root causes of migration.

This is a clear violation of international law. The US has a legal obligation to treat all migrants humanely and not subject them to arbitrary detention.

This is a victory for law and order. The rule of law must be upheld, and these migrants broke the law.

This is not what America stands for. We are a nation of immigrants and refugees. We must not turn our backs on those who need our help.

The media is trying to spin this as a bad thing, but it's actually a common-sense solution. Guantanamo is a secure facility that's perfect for housing these illegal immigrants.

This administration's obsession with demonizing immigrants is sickening. These are families fleeing violence and poverty, not criminals.
