U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has successfully deported Raymundo Rojas Bacilio, who is wanted in Mexico on a rape charge. This Mexican-born illegal immigrant had previously been convicted of sexually abusing a young child in the United States after he had already been deported five times. According to reports, Rojas was removed from the U.S. and sent back to Mexico on January 25.
The acting Field Office Director for ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Philadelphia, Brian McShane, emphasized the importance of this removal, stating that Rojas posed a significant threat to community safety due to his repeated illegal entries and criminal offenses. He underscored ICE's commitment to pursuing and removing individuals who endanger public safety.
Rojas initially encountered the U.S. Border Patrol three times in May 2002 while attempting to unlawfully cross into the U.S. from Douglas, Arizona, and each time he voluntarily returned to Mexico. In January 2012, he attempted to enter the U.S. at the Nogales, Arizona border using fraudulent documents, which resulted in his return to Mexico. Despite this, he attempted to enter the U.S. again just days later with the same forged credentials.
In May 2013, Mexican authorities issued an arrest warrant for Rojas related to rape allegations. After entering the U.S. again without proper admission, Rojas was ultimately arrested by the NYPD on August 28, 2023, for the sexual abuse of an 11-year-old girl. Following his conviction on September 20, 2024, for forcible touching, he received a sentence that included incarceration and probation, along with the requirement to register as a sex offender. Finally, Rojas was apprehended by ICE agents in Queens on December 17, 2024, leading to his removal from the United States.

Good riddance! This man is a danger to society and he doesn't deserve to be in our country.

This is a difficult time for the victim and her family, but I hope they can find the strength to move forward.
