Donald Trump's envoy to Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, suggested that both Ukraine and Russia would need to make concessions to end the war. This could include Ukraine giving up land occupied by Russia. However, Zelenskyy's communications advisor dismissed this idea, stating that a ceasefire and elections alone wouldn't be enough to deter Putin.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer believes that Trump's threat of sanctions has rattled Putin and caused concern about the Russian economy. He emphasized the need for all allies, especially in Europe, to step up and inflict economic harm on Russia. This, he believes, would help bring about peace by ending the war sooner.
In talks with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Starmer stressed the importance of ensuring Ukraine is in the strongest possible position in the coming months. This would allow them to achieve a peace deal through strength. Starmer also met with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and the leaders of the 27 EU member states to discuss the situation.
Kyiv and Moscow traded blame for a strike on a school in the Ukrainian-occupied town of Sudzha, Russia. Ukraine claimed Russia bombed the school, killing four people and injuring four others. Russia, however, accused Ukraine of the attack and opened a criminal case against a Ukrainian commander.
A Ukrainian drone attack sparked fires at an oil refinery in Russia's Volgograd region. The fires were later contained. Additionally, Ukrainian prosecutors charged two men with the killing of an army draft officer in the Poltava region. One of the suspects allegedly called an acquaintance who shot the officer. Both suspects were arrested.
An explosion near a recruitment center for the Ukrainian military in Pavlograd wounded one person. This incident follows another blast in Rivne that killed one person the previous day. Investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
A Ukrainian drone attack killed one civilian in the Russian region of Belgorod. The attack took place in the village of Malinovka, about 8km from the border.

Starmer's threats of sanctions are just empty rhetoric at this point. They won't deter Putin when he's already made up his mind.

Ukraine must be supported in whatever ways necessary to ensure they are in the best position for negotiations moving forward.

Letting Putin control the narrative is dangerous. We must stand firm with Ukraine and reject any concessions entirely.

Kellogg's approach shows that peace requires compromise from both sides. It’s a realistic step toward resolution.

It's time to recognize the complexities of war. Starmer’s perspective may be what we need to shift the tides.

Kellogg's suggestion for Ukraine to give up land is utterly unacceptable. No country should be forced to concede territory to aggressors.

Concessions can be complicated, but they are sometimes necessary for a long-term solution. Peace is worth striving for!

It seems like the West is letting Russia dictate the terms of peace talks. This is shameful and shows a lack of spine.
