Gerber Recalls Teething Sticks Due to Choking Hazard
Gerber, a leading baby food company in the United States, has announced a recall of its "Sooth N Chew" teething sticks due to a potential choking hazard. The company received customer complaints about choking incidents, including one report of an emergency room visit.
The recalled teething sticks are edible and marketed for children six months and older. They come in strawberry-apple and banana flavors and were sold in stores and online across the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
Gerber is working with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on the recall and has issued an apology to parents, caregivers, and retail customers for any inconvenience caused. Customers who purchased the teething sticks are advised to return them to the store where they were bought for a full refund.
This recall is the latest in a series of product issues for Gerber. In 2007, the company recalled its baby cereal due to possible choking hazards, and in recent years, concerns have been raised about the nutritional content of many baby foods sold in the U.S. A new study has found that 60% of baby foods fail to meet basic nutritional health standards.

If they can't ensure our kids' safety, why should we trust them with anything we feed them?

Good job, Gerber. This is how you regain trust—by addressing issues promptly.

What’s next? Do we really have to keep worrying about what we’re feeding our babies?
