A tragic incident occurred on Friday in Philadelphia when a medical evacuation plane crashed, leading to the deaths of seven individuals, as confirmed by both the mayor of Philadelphia and the president of Mexico. Among the deceased were six Mexican nationals who were onboard the aircraft, and one person who was in a car near the crash site.
The mayor of Philadelphia, Cherelle Parker, stated during a press briefing that 19 more people sustained injuries due to the crash. In a separate statement on social media, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum expressed her grief and announced that she had instructed consular officials to provide support to the families affected by the loss of the six Mexican passengers.
The plane, operated by Jet Rescue Air Ambulance, which is based in Mexico and authorized to fly in the United States, had a total of four crew members, one pediatric patient, and the child's mother onboard at the time of the accident. The girl, who was being transported back home, had Tijuana as her final destination, as reported by Shai Gold from Jet Rescue Air Ambulance.

I’m so angry about this. The oversight for air ambulances seems lax at best.

This incident has renewed my fear about flying in any medical vehicles. Too many questions remain.

Terribly sad... but also makes me question how safe these medical flights are.
