Russia Launches Missile Attack on Odesa, Injuring Seven
Russia launched a missile attack on the historic center of Odesa, Ukraine's Black Sea port city, injuring at least seven people and causing significant damage to the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the attack, stating that Norwegian diplomats were among those caught in the strike. He emphasized the need to strengthen Ukraine's air defenses in the face of such aggression. Zelensky further accused Vladimir Putin's forces of deliberately targeting civilian buildings in the city.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump reported that his administration was engaged in "very serious" discussions with Russia regarding the Ukraine war. He hinted at the possibility of taking "significant" action with Putin to end the conflict soon. However, Trump declined to confirm whether he had spoken directly with his Russian counterpart.
Separately, Ukraine's military announced the destruction of a Russian command post in the border region of Kursk.
