A woman aged 26, identified as Angel Sexton, has been charged with the abuse of a 13-year-old boy during the holiday season in Florida. Law enforcement officials from the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office announced her arrest on a warrant for lewd and lascivious battery.
The allegations suggest that Sexton groomed the young victim via text messages prior to his visit in December 2024. Authorities reported that these texts indicated her misuse of a position of authority to exploit the relationship and sexually abuse him. The allegations against her include actions such as kissing, attempted oral sex, and sexual intercourse, as stated by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.
Following the alleged incidents, the teenager returned home to his family in January, but Sexton continued to engage in the grooming process through text messages, expressing intentions such as leaving her husband for him. Initially, Sexton denied the accusations but later confessed to participating in sexual activities with the boy.
In response to the arrest, Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly expressed his outrage over the situation, emphasizing the seriousness of taking advantage of a minor. He praised the Major Case Unit for their diligence in ensuring that Sexton was apprehended swiftly to prevent further illegal actions.
Sexton is currently being held at the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility with a bond set at $25,000.
