A Life Beyond the Spotlight
Kick Kennedy, born in 1988, is the daughter of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and his first wife, Emily Ruth Black. She is named after her great-aunt, Kathleen "Kick" Agnes Cavendish, who tragically died in a plane crash in 1948. Kick has five siblings, four of whom are half-siblings from her father's second marriage to Mary Richardson.
"When I see my face or name in the tabloids, I get a knot in my stomach. It's just not me — it's reading something that's not real."
Despite her aversion to fame, Kick has made headlines for some unusual stories. In a 2012 interview, she recounted a bizarre incident where her father decapitated a dead whale they found on a beach. The family then drove five hours with the whale head strapped to their minivan, leading to a rather unpleasant experience with "whale juice" leaking into the car.
"People ask me, 'What's it like to be a Kennedy?' Maybe it's just the temperature of the water, but I'm just like, 'I have no idea.'"
Kick Kennedy remains a relatively private figure, but her dedication to philanthropy and her desire to carve her own path suggest a depth and complexity that goes beyond the headlines.

The whale story is bizarre but shows that life can be strange and unexpected, just like Kick seems to be.

Love that she wants to carve her own identity! The focus shouldn’t always be on the name.
