The Ministry of Health (MOH) has reported that during the upcoming Chinese New Year festivities, 1,115 general practitioner (GP) clinics across Singapore will have varying operating hours. Notably, 17 of these clinics will be available around the clock from January 28 to January 30, ensuring access to medical services during the celebrations. The specific details regarding the clinics and their hours of operation can be found on the MOH's GPGoWhere website.
In a media release, MOH urged the public, including children, to seek medical care from GPs or the 24-hour clinics if they feel unwell during this festive period. It is recommended that individuals make appointments or contact the clinics ahead of their visits. For those experiencing urgent but non-life-threatening medical issues, they can visit urgent care centers located at Alexandria Hospital, UCC @ Admiralty, or the National University Hospital's UCC @ Bukit Panjang.
Furthermore, MOH stressed that serious or life-threatening medical emergencies, such as symptoms of chest pain, breathlessness, or uncontrollable bleeding, should be directed to a hospital's accident and emergency department. The ministry also advised against calling the 995 Emergency Medical Services for non-life-threatening situations, as this may hinder prompt medical assistance for those in critical need.
