Suspect Arrested
A 46-year-old man, Yusuke Yaguchi, has been arrested in connection with a random stabbing attack in Nagano, central Japan, that left one man dead and two others injured. The attack occurred on Wednesday night in front of JR Nagano Station.
Yaguchi was apprehended at his home, located 3 kilometers east of the crime scene. He is suspected of attempted murder in the attack on a woman who sustained a minor injury. The police have not yet found the weapon used in the attack.
The deceased victim has been identified as 49-year-old Hiroyoshi Maruyama. Another man was seriously injured in the attack. The suspect fled the scene near the station where the victims were waiting for a bus.
The police used surveillance camera footage to locate the suspect, who may have fled the scene on foot. Yaguchi has remained silent during questioning.
