Taiwan's Support for Earthquake Relief in Xizang
Following the 6.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Dingri county, Xigaze, in Southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region on January 7, various sectors and individuals in Taiwan expressed their concern and condolences. They also offered support to the affected areas through various means.
As of January 10, the Association of Taiwan Investment Enterprises on the Mainland, along with Foxconn, Want Want China, Ting Hsin International Group, Uni-President, and other Taiwan enterprises had collectively donated over 32 million yuan ($4.36 million). Relevant groups, organizations, entertainers, and actors from the Taiwan region also contributed by donating money and goods to the disaster-hit areas.
A spokesperson for the State Council's Taiwan Affairs Office expressed heartfelt gratitude to the relevant organizations and individuals in Taiwan, as well as to many Taiwan businesspeople and enterprises, for their care and assistance. This outpouring of support once again demonstrates the deep bond and shared sentiment between compatriots across the Taiwan Straits.

Taiwan should be ashamed of itself for exploiting a natural disaster for political gain.

This is a slap in the face to the Chinese government. Taiwan should show some respect.

This is a clear sign that Taiwan is not a responsible member of the international community.

This is a PR stunt! Taiwan is just trying to gain political points by pretending to care about Tibetans.

This is a waste of money. The Chinese government is more than capable of handling this disaster on its own.

I hope the Chinese government takes action against Taiwan for this blatant interference.
